Product information "Communication expansion CANopen Kinco GK20-CAN for GK2070HE"

The Kinco GK2070HE ships with Ethernet and one isolated RS-485 port. If that does not cover your fieldbus, plug one of the two GK20 communication modules into an expansion slot and you have the right interface — no gateway, no second device.

🌐 The two modules

GK20-CAN: CAN 2.0B with CANopen master function. Connect CANopen slaves such as drives, valve islands or remote I/O straight to the built-in PLC. Slot EXP1.
GK20-COM: 1 x RS-485 and 1 x RS-232 in one module, with Modbus RTU as master and slave plus free-protocol communication for devices with their own ASCII syntax — scales, printers, barcode readers, instruments. Slot EXP0.

🏭 Typical applications

Drives over CANopen: run several axes on one bus instead of wiring each one with analog signals.
A second serial line: the built-in RS-485 already serves a third-party device and your sensors need their own bus. GK20-COM provides the second line.
RS-232 devices: older printers, scales and instruments do not speak RS-485. GK20-COM connects them directly, without a level converter.

🔧 Slots: two per device

EXP0: analog (IV), thermocouple (TC), RTD (RD), digital inputs (DI), digital outputs (DO) and the COM communication module.
EXP1: the same I/O modules plus the CAN communication module.

💡 That means a maximum of two modules at a time — and only one CAN and one COM module, because those two are tied to their respective slot.

🔗 Compatibility

Both modules are designed for the Kinco GK series and fit the GK2070HE-42DTP. Communication is configured in KincoBuilder Pro within the base unit's application program.
