Looking for a compact, standards-compliant PLC for machine and plant automation that relies on open protocols and a vendor-neutral development environment? The Odot C3351-B01 is a practical solution. The CPU has no built-in I/O channels – which makes it deliberately flexible: the expansion modules you connect (digital, analog, temperature, special functions) determine which I/O types are used. ⚠️ Version information: B01 replaces A00 The C3351-B01 is the current successor to the C3351-A00. The key difference is significantly expanded memory: the B01 offers 4 MB program memory, 4 MB data memory, and 32 KB retentive data – compared to 1 MB each and only 1.5 KB retentive memory in the A00. 💡 Important when switching: The device profile of the A00 and B01 differ. In CODESYS and IO-Config, you must load the correct B01 device description file – the A00 file is not compatible. For version identification (side label on the device or IO-Config firmware info) and migration details, please refer to the manual. 🏭 Typical applications Compact systems with integrated network communication: The C3351-B01 acts simultaneously as a Modbus TCP Client and Server – ideal for systems that connect sensors or external SCADA systems without separate gateway hardware. Retrofit with serial fieldbus structure: The RS-485 interface supports Modbus RTU as both Master and Slave. Existing serial subsystems – drives, inverters, displays – can be connected directly without additional hardware. Modular control cabinet design: Up to 32 expansion modules (digital I/O, analog I/O, temperature measurement, encoder inputs, special functions) allow a precisely tailored configuration without unused channels. IEC 61131-3 projects with portability: If you already have CODESYS experience or want to reuse software modules across different PLC vendors, the C3351-B01 with its five IEC programming languages is ready to go. 💻 Programming with CODESYS 3.5 The C3351-B01 is programmed with CODESYS V3.5.19.70.
