Looking for a modular PLC that you can program in ladder diagram or structured text, and in C or as a distributed IEC 61499 application when you need it? The Odot DU03L is the controller of the Odot D series: 3 × Ethernet, 2 × RS-485 and CAN on board, a PROFINET controller or an EtherCAT master depending on the version, and expandable with up to 32 D-series I/O modules. It is programmed with the AIOSYS platform, installed locally on Windows or Linux, on a server or used in the browser.
🔀 Three versions – choose by your fieldbus
DU03L-A00-1200-0 – PROFINET: Port 3 works as a PROFINET controller (PROFINET RT) and runs PROFINET devices such as remote I/O, drives or valve terminals.
DU03L-A00-1300-0 – EtherCAT: Port 3 works as an EtherCAT master for EtherCAT slaves such as remote I/O or drives.
DU03L-A00-1300-1 – EtherCAT + Motion Control: like 1300-0, plus motion control of EtherCAT servo axes. Single axis with speed and position control, multi-axis operation with electronic gearing and electronic cams, real and virtual axes.
💡 Note: The letter “L” means exactly one real-time Ethernet master per device. PROFINET and EtherCAT cannot be used at the same time.
🏭 Typical applications
Machines with EtherCAT servo drives: With the DU03L-A00-1300-1 you run single axes and coupled axes directly from the PLC, without a separate motion controller.
Plants with PROFINET devices: The DU03L-A00-1200-0 takes the controller role for PROFINET devices. Odot provides the GSDML file.
Connection to control systems, SCADA and MES: Ports 1 and 2 (switch function) speak Modbus TCP as client and server, OPC UA as server, and free TCP and UDP communication.
Existing serial devices: Two independent RS-485 interfaces for Modbus RTU/ASCII as master or slave or for free protocols, plus a CAN interface (CAN 2.0 A/B) for free CAN communication.
Modular cabinet layout: Digital, analog, communication and power modules of the Odot D series are added on the side. You only pay for the channels you actually use.
💻 Programming with AIOSYS
AIOSYS is Odot's programming platform. It follows IEC 61499 for distributed control architectures and is compatible with IEC 61131-3. Programming languages are ladder diagram (LD), structured text (ST) and C.
Installation: locally or on a server, on Windows and Linux, programming also in the web browser
Memory: 1 GB program memory, 1 GB runtime memory, 512 kB retentive data
Functions: struct variables, global variables, project encryption, online debugging, simulation, TRACE, data logging, recipes, PID control with self-tuning
More: real-time clock, TF card slot (microSD), OLED display with button for device parameters without software, web server for configuration and firmware updates

🔧 Mounting, wiring and scope of delivery
Mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail, dimensions 83 mm × 119 mm × 80 mm (W × H × D). Pluggable spring terminals for 0.2 – 1.5 mm² (AWG 24 – AWG 16). System and field supply 24 V DC each (19.2 – 28.8 V DC) with reverse polarity protection. Current consumption max. 168 mA at 24 V DC, backplane supply for the modules max. 2 A at 5 V DC, field current max. 8 A, redundant backplane bus. Operating temperature −35 °C to +60 °C for horizontal and −35 °C to +50 °C for vertical mounting, storage temperature −40 °C to +85 °C, protection class IP20.
✅ End module DT-5800 included: Every D-series station needs an end module that terminates the backplane bus. With the DU03L we ship the Odot DT-5800 as well, so you can start right away. You can order it separately, e.g. as a spare part.
🏷️ Manufacturer and reliability
Odot Automation (Sichuan Odot Automation System Co., Ltd.) specializes in PLCs and distributed I/O systems. A TÜV SÜD EMC attestation of conformity covers the D series including the DU03L (EN 61131-2, Directive 2014/30/EU). Mechanical robustness to IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27, EMC to IEC 61000-4 and IEC 61131-2.
