If you want to equip a machine or system with a robust, network-capable operator panel in the industrial 7" format, the Kinco GL2070HE is a powerful HMI from the 2nd-generation GREEN series. Three serial COM ports, one Ethernet port, a supply from 10.8 V DC and an IP65-protected front make it a versatile standard panel for control cabinets and machine building — with no radio surcharge when you don't need it.
🏭 Typical applications
Control cabinet installation in production environments: The cutout of 192 × 138 mm fits standard cabinet doors and control panels. The IP65 rating on the front reliably keeps out splash water, dust and coolant vapours. Operation with work gloves is fully possible thanks to the resistive touch panel.
Vehicle and mobile applications: Excavators, aerial work platforms, forklifts or special machines with a 12 V on-board supply: the supply voltage from 10.8 to 28 V covers typical on-board voltage fluctuations where HMIs with an 18 V minimum would fail.
Multi-device communication: PLC via RS-485, barcode scanner via RS-232, higher-level system via Ethernet — all three COM ports and the LAN port can be used in parallel, without a multiplexer.
Systems requiring remote maintenance: Via the Ethernet port the panel connects to the EdgeAccess2 platform — remote diagnostics and maintenance without an on-site visit.
🖥️ Display and touch
The 7" TFT display has a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels and shows 16.7 million colours. With 450 cd/m² brightness the panel is designed for industrial lighting conditions; it is not specified for use in direct sunlight. The contrast ratio is 800:1, the viewing angle 85/85/85/85° (left/right/top/bottom).
The operating surface is a 4-wire resistive touch panel with a surface hardness of 4H — robust against mechanical stress and scratches. The LED backlight is rated for 30,000 operating hours.
👆 Resistive touch: benefits in practice
Resistive touch panels respond to pressure rather than electrical conductivity. Operation works even with thick work gloves, wet fingers, a stylus or a blunt tool — that is, everywhere industrial reality prevails. The surface is also more scratch-resistant than capacitive acrylic panels.
💡 A note on selection: If you prefer smooth multi-touch operation with pinch-to-zoom and swipe gestures — for chart evaluation or comfort visualisation in an office setting — choose the Kinco GL2070HE-LX with capacitive acrylic touch instead. Note: the LX only starts at 18 V DC and is therefore not suitable for mobile applications. If you need wireless connectivity, the panel is also available as the GL2070HE-WIFI or GL2070HE-4G.
🔌 Interfaces and connectivity
Ethernet: 1 × LAN, 10/100 Mbit/s (RJ45) — for wired network access, program download and EdgeAccess2 remote maintenance.
Serial ports: COM0: RS-232 / RS-485 / RS-422 (switchable, 1 channel usable at a time); COM1: RS-485; COM2: RS-232 — three serial communication channels usable simultaneously in total.
USB: 1 × USB host (data backup, firmware update, extended storage); 1 × USB slave Type-C (program download from PC).
Real-time clock (RTC): integrated — for time-controlled sequences, logging and shift schedules without external hardware.
🌐 Remote maintenance with EdgeAccess2
The GL2070HE is integrated into Kinco's EdgeAccess2 platform. Via a secured internet connection — through the LAN port — HMI projects can be downloaded and uploaded remotely, the HMI screen can be monitored live, and PLC programs can be transparently passed through, read and modified. Service level agreements with fast response times are achievable without an on-site visit.
🔗 Broad PLC driver library
Preconfigured drivers for all common controller manufacturers are already integrated: Siemens S7-200/300/400/1200/1500 and LOGO!, Mitsubishi FX, Omron, Beckhoff TwinCAT ADS, Xinje XD/XL and XC, Kinco PLC as well as Codesys V3-based controllers. If you run an existing system with a different PLC brand, you can usually fall back on a suitable driver in DTools Pro straight away — without manual protocol configuration.

The GL2070HE is CE-certified according to EN IEC 61000-6-2:2019 (industrial EMC immunity) and EN IEC 61000-6-4:2019 (industrial EMC emissions) and meets IP65 on the front according to IEC 60529.
