The Kinco GL2043HE is the successor to the GL043E for DTools Pro. It has a 4" display with a higher resolution than the GL043E and a faster processor. It is a modern and versatile HMI touch panel with 4.3'' / 11 cm screen diagonal and a resolution of 800 * 480 pixels from Kinco at a tiger price complete with serial interface and Ethernet interface (remote controllable). It is the smallest HMI in our range and yet offers all the functions of its larger siblings. The installation dimensions are the same as the GL043E. The touch panel offers a versatile library of elements for visualization and operation, many freely available communication drivers for various PLCs and simple graphical configuration communication with the PLCs. With its compact control panel, the touch panel is very well suited for small machines or small control elements in systems and in industrial building automation.

Those looking for a compact, modern operator interface with integrated remote access —
without being locked into a proprietary ecosystem — will find the Kinco GL2070HE-LX a
capable 7" HMI from the GREEN Series 2nd Generation. Three serial COM ports, built-in
EdgeAccess2 remote maintenance and an IP65-rated front panel make it particularly suited
for applications where connectivity and remote accessibility are critical.
🏭 Typical applications
Machine retrofit with legacy protocols: Older systems with RS-232
or RS-485 interfaces can be connected directly — COM0 supports RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422
(switchable), COM1 provides a dedicated RS-485 channel, COM2 an additional RS-232 port.
No protocol converter required.
Remote maintenance without additional hardware: Via the
EdgeAccess2 platform, the HMI screen and connected PLCs can be monitored remotely,
projects uploaded and downloaded, and PLC programs transparently accessed — without a
separate VPN router or industrial PC.
Control cabinet installation in production environments: The
cutout dimension of 192 × 138 mm fits standard cabinet doors and operator panels. The
IP65-rated front protects against spray water, dust and coolant mist.
Multi-device communication: Those who need to connect a PLC via
RS-485, a barcode scanner via RS-232 and a supervisory system via Ethernet simultaneously
can use all three COM ports and the LAN port in parallel — no multiplexer needed.
🖥️ Display and touch
The 7" TFT display resolves at 1024 × 600 pixels and renders 16.77 million colors. At
450 cd/m² brightness, the panel is designed for industrial environments with indirect
lighting and normal ambient light; use under direct sunlight is not specified. Contrast
ratio is 800:1, viewing angle 85/85/85/85° (left/right/up/down).
The operator surface is a capacitive acrylic touch panel. Multi-touch gestures
(pinch-to-zoom, scrolling in trend curves) are supported. The LED backlight is rated for
30,000 operating hours.
👆 Capacitive touch: practical notes
Capacitive panels respond to direct fingertips — a light touch is sufficient, no
pressure required. This reduces operator fatigue during extended use compared to resistive
panels. The acrylic surface is lighter than glass but more susceptible to mechanical
scratches; a screen protector is recommended for demanding environments.
⚠️ Important note: Thick protective gloves, wet fingers or heavily
contaminated hands can impair touch recognition. For environments with regular glove use
or moisture, the
resistive Kinco G2070HE
is recommended.
🔌 Interfaces and connectivity
Ethernet: 1 × LAN, 10/100 Mbit/s (RJ45) — for network access,
program download and EdgeAccess2 remote maintenance.
Serial ports: COM0: RS-232 / RS-485 / RS-422 (switchable, 1 channel
usable at a time); COM1: RS-485; COM2: RS-232 — three serial communication channels
usable simultaneously.
USB: 1 × USB Host (data backup, firmware update, extended storage);
1 × USB Slave Type-C (program download from PC).
Real-time clock (RTC): built-in — for time-controlled processes,
logging and shift scheduling without external hardware.
🌐 Remote maintenance with EdgeAccess2
The GL2070HE-LX is integrated into Kinco's EdgeAccess2 platform. Via a secured internet
connection, HMI projects can be uploaded and downloaded remotely, the HMI screen monitored
live, and PLC programs transparently accessed, read and modified — without sending a
service technician on-site. This directly benefits anyone offering service level agreements
with fast response times.
🔗 Extensive PLC driver library
Pre-configured drivers for all common PLC manufacturers are already integrated: Siemens
S7-200/300/400/1200/1500 and LOGO!, Mitsubishi FX, Omron, Beckhoff TwinCAT ADS, Xinje
XD/XL and XC, Kinco PLCs and Codesys V3-based controllers. Anyone operating an existing
system with a different PLC brand will typically find a matching driver in DTools Pro
immediately — without manual protocol configuration.
📦 Sister variants
Within the 7" GL2 family there are three siblings with an identical mounting cutout of 192 × 138 mm — when switching between models, the cabinet opening stays unchanged. They differ in touch technology and wireless connectivity:

If you need to connect a machine without structured LAN wiring to a plant network or service portal — and at the same time require a rugged operator panel in industrial format — the Kinco GL2070HE-WIFI is a powerful 7" HMI from the GREEN Series 2nd Generation. Built-in IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, three serial COM ports, supply voltage from 10.8 V DC, and an IP65-protected front make it particularly suitable for applications where wireless connectivity and mobility matter.
🏭 Typical applications
Machine without LAN connection: Workshops, outdoor areas, or retrofitted plants without structured LAN cabling can be integrated into the plant network via WLAN. No cabinet needs to be opened, no network cable laid.
Vehicle and mobile applications: Excavators, aerial work platforms, forklifts, or special machinery with a 12 V on-board power system: The supply voltage range from 10.8 to 28 V covers typical on-board voltage fluctuations where HMIs with an 18 V minimum would fail.
Cabinet mounting in production environments: The cutout dimension of 192 × 138 mm fits standard cabinet doors and operating panels. IP65 front protection reliably keeps out splash water, dust, and coolant vapours. Operation with work gloves is fully possible thanks to the resistive touch panel.
Multi-device communication: PLC via RS-485, barcode scanner via RS-232, supervisory system via WLAN — all three COM ports and the wireless module can be used in parallel without a multiplexer.
🖥️ Display and touch
The 7" TFT display has a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels and renders 16.7 million colours. With 450 cd/m² brightness, the panel is designed for industrial lighting conditions; it is not specified for direct sunlight. Contrast ratio is 800:1, viewing angle 85/85/85/85° (left/right/up/down).
The operator interface is a 4-wire resistive touch panel with a surface hardness of 4H — robust against mechanical stress and scratches. LED backlight is rated for 30,000 operating hours.
👆 Resistive touch: practical advantages
Resistive touch panels respond to pressure instead of electrical conductivity. This means operation also works with thick work gloves, wet fingers, a stylus, or a blunt tool — everywhere industrial reality applies. The surface is also more scratch-resistant than capacitive acrylic panels.
💡 Choosing the right variant: If you prefer smooth multi-touch operation with pinch-to-zoom and swipe gestures — for instance, for chart analysis or comfort visualisation in office environments — choose the Kinco GL2070HE-LX with capacitive acrylic touch instead. Note: the LX starts at 18 V DC and is therefore not suitable for mobile applications.
📶 Integrated WLAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n)
The WLAN module supports IEEE 802.11 b, g, and n in the 2.4 GHz band. This allows the HMI to be integrated into any industrial WLAN — to connect to PLCs on the same network, to service PCs, or directly to the EdgeAccess2 cloud. The wireless module complements the wired LAN port but does not replace it: those who want to use both paths in parallel (LAN for machine communication, WLAN for external service access) can do so.
