If you need to count fast pulses – proximity switches on conveyors, flow meters, encoders without direction sensing – and want to do it in the field instead of through expensive high-speed counter cards in the PLC, the Solidot XB6S-PC80 is a compact 8-channel counter module of the XB6S slice series.
🏭 Typical applications
Part counting: count items on conveyor and packaging lines via photoelectric sensors or proximity switches.
Flow/quantity: count the pulse outputs of flow or quantity sensors.
Speed/frequency: measure clock signals without direction sensing.
Distributed counting points: collect widely separated counting points over one XB6S segment instead of wiring each back to the PLC.

🔌 Connection technology

This module is not a standalone fieldbus device: it plugs onto an XB6S bus coupler, which handles the connection to PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus and other protocols. You capture or generate the signals right in the field and transmit them over your existing fieldbus.

Convenient configuration via the web browser on the coupler. 35 mm DIN rail, dimensions 106 × 72 × 25 mm, approx. 0.09 kg.
