Capture positions, speeds and lengths or connect serial devices: the special-function cards of the Odot B series evaluate incremental and absolute encoders directly in the BOXIO, without fast counters in the PLC. The BT-5312 also adds two RS-485 ports.

🏭 Typical uses

5 V incremental encoders: BT-5102 with 2 encoder inputs (A/B or pulse/direction) up to 1.5 MHz, multiplication x1/x2/x4, 5 V encoder supply, one digital input and output per channel.
24 V incremental encoders: BT-5112 with 2 encoder inputs up to 500 kHz, x1/x2/x4, one digital input and output per channel.
Absolute encoders: BT-5121 with 1 SSI input (5 V differential), clock up to 2 MHz, frame length 10 – 40 bit, Gray or binary code, plus 4 digital inputs and 1 digital output.
Fast differential encoders: BT-5141 with 1 encoder input 5 V differential up to 10 MHz, x1/x2/x4, 4 digital inputs, 1 digital output.
Connecting serial Modbus devices: BT-5312 with 2 isolated RS-485 ports, Modbus RTU/ASCII master or slave or transparent transmission, 300 bit/s to 500 kbit/s. Together with a BN bus coupler you bring drives, meters or displays onto PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP.
