Solidot IOL7A – IO-Link Hub, 16 Kanäle, PNP, IP67

If you want to collect a lot of simple sensors or valves in the field without running a cable to the cabinet for every channel, an IO-Link hub mounted directly at the machine is the answer. The Solidot IOL7A bundles 16 digital channels and passes them on to an IO-Link master over a single M12 cable — as a pure input or output hub, or with freely configurable channels; two models additionally offer channel diagnostics.

🏭 Typical applications

• Consolidating cabling: 16 sensor or valve cables end at the hub instead of at 16 terminals in the cabinet. Only one cable runs to the master — up to 20 m, unshielded is fine.

• Fixtures and clamping devices: Reading proximity switches, driving cylinder valves. This is exactly what the hub is built for: many simple signals, little space, harsh environment.

• Retrofitting without rebuilding the controller: The hub is a standard IO-Link slave and works with masters from any manufacturer. You don't need a free slot in the PLC, just a free port on the master.

• Device replacement without reconfiguration: The hub supports data storage. After a swap, the replacement device fetches its configuration from the master itself.

• Locating faults without a production stop: The models with channel diagnostics (suffix "S") report short circuit, overload or wire break back to the controller per channel — instead of one collective fault for the whole module.

🔌 Connections and channels

• To the master: M12, A-coded, 4-pin. IO-Link protocol, transmission rate COM3 (230.4 kBd), minimum cycle time 1 ms, cable length up to 20 m.

• To the field: 8 x M12, A-coded, 5-pin — the 16 channels are wired here. Supply and signal run over the same cable, standard sensor cables are sufficient.

• Channel direction: The IOL7A-1600B-M12 has 16 digital inputs (PNP, 4 mA), the IOL7A-0016B-M12 has 16 digital outputs (PNP, 0.5 A per channel, max. 2 A total). The IOL7A-16CB-M12 lets every one of the 16 channels be configured individually as input or output. The IOL7A-0016BS-M12 and IOL7A-16CBS-M12 variants technically match the 0016B and 16CB respectively but additionally report channel diagnostics to the controller.

• Diagnostics: Channel status via LED, short-circuit and overload protection with configurable auto-restart, firmware update via the master.

🔧 Mounting and environment

Screw mounting, 165 mm x 58 mm x 31 mm, 0.35 kg, IP67 protection rating. Supply 24 V DC (18 – 30 V), operating temperature -25 °C to +70 °C, storage -40 °C to +85 °C. This lets the hub sit right where the sensors are — including wash-down zones, outdoors and unheated halls.
