SVLEC PRA0402 – Electronic Circuit Breaker, 4 Channels, 1 – 10 A, IO-Link

Behind a 24 V switch-mode power supply, controller, bus modules, sensors and valves usually share the same line. A short circuit in a single branch often drags the whole power supply down — and the PLC with it. The SVLEC PRA04 electronic circuit breaker splits the 24 V supply into four individually protected channels and switches off only the faulty one. You set the tripping current per channel between 1 and 10 A.

🏭 Typical applications

• Selective protection in the control cabinet: Controller, field devices and actuators each get their own channel. If one branch trips due to short circuit or overload, the other three keep running.

• Long cables, small cross-sections: Where a miniature circuit breaker does not trip reliably because the short-circuit current is too low, the electronic circuit breaker still disconnects overload and short-circuit paths quickly and reliably.

• Capacitive loads: Devices with large input capacitors such as bus modules or RFID readers do not cause false trips at switch-on. Up to 20 mF load capacitance per channel is permitted, and the rated current is set to the normal operating current.

• Status in the controller: The PRA0402 variant reports process data and diagnostics to the PLC via IO-Link.

• Rated current per channel: 1, 2, 3 … 10 A, set by a recessed rotary switch per channel — no accidental adjustment during operation.

• Early warning: signal as soon as a channel reaches 90 % of its set current.

• Group alarm: A potential-free contact (normally closed) reports faults to the controller.

• Remote operation: Channels can be switched and reset remotely via digital inputs and outputs.

• Standard: According to the manufacturer, compliant with EN 60204-1 and reliably interrupts ground faults within 5 s.

🔌 Variants

• PRA0401 (760001): 4 channels, remote operation via digital I/O.

• PRA0402 (760002): 4 channels with IO-Link communication for process data and diagnostics.

• Supply: 24 V DC (18 – 30 V DC), spring-type terminals, 2 × 16 mm².

• Alarm contact: spring-type terminal up to 2.5 mm².

• Mounting: DIN rail TH35 according to EN 60715.

• Ambient temperature: −30 °C to +70 °C.

• Dimensions (L × W × H): 89.4 mm × 47 mm × 90 mm.
