Assembled, shielded Ethernet cable with an M12 connector (D-coded, 4-pin) on the field side and RJ45 on the cabinet side. This connects an IP67 module in the field to a controller or switch in the cabinet — no adapter, no manual assembly.
🔌 What for
Connecting the Solidot IP67 modules (EC7A, PN7A, IOL7) to a controller with an RJ45 port.
Transition from the field level into the control cabinet when the module sits outside the cabinet.
🧵 PVC or PUR — which one
PVC: for fixed installation in dry, mechanically calm environments.
PUR: abrasion- and oil-resistant, for moving installation and rough machine environments.
📐 Technical basis
M12 D-coded, 4-pin, male — the standard for 100 Mbps industrial Ethernet in the field.
Shielded, CAT5, 100 Mbps, green jacket. Lengths 0.5 · 1 · 2 · 3 · 5 · 10 · 20 m.
⚠️ Limits stated honestly
The RJ45 end is IP20 — it belongs in the control cabinet. The protection rating of the whole link is set by the RJ45 end, not by the M12 connector.
D-coding is not compatible with A-coded sensor cables — mechanically distinct codings, by design.
4-pin, 100 Mbps — no gigabit links (that would require X-coding).
