Odot ODOT-S2/S4E2-4 - Bringing Modbus devices cleanly into the Ethernet

Many automation systems use field devices with Modbus RTU or ASCII via serial interfaces (RS232/RS485). These tried-and-tested devices are often difficult to address directly in modern, Ethernet-based control and IT environments (e.g. SCADA, MES, IoT gateways) because the serial interface is not easily accessible to network devices.

The Odot ODOT-S4E2-4 provides a remedy here: it converts serial Modbus RTU/ASCII communication into Modbus TCP and thus enables direct access to field devices via Ethernet networks - without additional software gateways or PLC code adaptations.

The gateways can address several serial RS-485 buses and bring their participants into the network via two LAN ports.
